Ah, a crazy week at school- and only 36 more hours until it starts again. Last week we decorated gingerbread houses. It was fun. Really, what kid wouldn't like to walk into a room full of sugar and Christmas music? Just the smell of the frosting brought on sugar rushes. This week the task at hand is to finish off 25 Christmas ornaments without breaking one- wish us luck!
We picked out the Christmas card picture and design. I'll post it once I finish sending them out. Thanks for your input!
We went Christmas shopping today to try to finish off our list. We are down to finding one gift for my sister, so not too bad. Well, that and gifts for each other. What do you do? Do you set a money limit for gifts? Do you get a "together" gift? Stockings? I know a lot of my friends are doing different things. We are trying to decide if we should get each other gifts or spend the money on a ski trip or something for the house.

The hubby and I did not want a thing for Christmas! We just enjoyed a year of bliss and it seems like we were given gifts all year leading up to our wedding! So this year we adopted a family and gave them gifts with the money we would have spent on each other.
Update: Our fridge went up!!! So, that is our unexpected gift to each other!
This year we are being practical, we are getting each other wedding related gifts that we would need to buy anyway, but surprising each other with what we actually get. Like I am getting my fiance the tie for our weddign day, not sure what he is getting me, but I mainly asked for wedding related items, so hopefully he sticks to the plan! Plus I got him some work clothes because I went to Black Friday and it was super cheap and he needs them. Then I got him tickets to a Bruins game, for his fun gift.
This year the hubby and I are not getting each other gifts, the wedding and honeymoon were enough to break the bank...but in past years we've set a spending limit and pretty much went from there. We also plan to go skiing in February so that I guess counts as a gift to ourselves...
Yes, the hubs and I set a limit for us this year in gifts and he better stick to it! Haha I think he will though, it's our first year doing this so hopefully it works well!
Mr. Nurse's family draws names and then his parents give everyone a stocking. We never really had any traditions in my family though. We usually just by my grandmother something and then for each other (mom, dad, brother, & me). I sent you an email so that you can view my private blog :)
So glad you want to play along!!! I'll give you the letter R!
